President Obama must meet publicly with the Dalai Lama when he comes to America. Despite threats from China, the Dalai Lama’s visit should be held at the White House with all the pomp and circumstance given to heads of state. Even as China tries to suggest that this is a bad idea, it is up to the President to stand his ground for human rights, especially when it comes to the leadership of a oppressed group of people. The Tibetans deserve to see America’s support. Since our President loves to bow to foreign leaders, lets hope President Obama will just shake hands and push for full press coverage. Bets would say the White House will back down and announce they met with no photo opp. The lack of a public meeting will show China we are as weak as they think we are!
